What is Onboard?

Onboard is a platform designed for developer communities. Developers can discover and join new communities and Community Managers can drive growth and engagement by creating interactive quests for their members. Onboard makes introducing new members a seamless and enjoyable experience, and encourages existing members to become engaged and active contributors.

Onboard caters to all individuals who are enthusiastic about the developer space and have a strong interest in establishing or joining a development community.

How do I sign-up for Onboard?

To create an account, simply visit our sign-up page.

Why must i create a StackUp Account?

As of 4 March 2024, Onboard has officially joined the StackUp ecosystem! If you are a new user, simply sign up here.

For existing users, in order to access Onboard, you'll need to transition to a StackUp account. But don't worry โ€” we've made the process as seamless as possible. All your existing data will remain on Onboard if you sign up with the same email.

What is StackUp?

StackUp aims to empower tech talents to level up as a developer, and enable them to grow and connect with a global dev community. This transition will bring about numerous benefits for you, including access to a wider range of resources, improved functionality, and a more robust platform overall. Community & Quest Creation

What is a quest?

A quest is a task that your community members can perform, in exchange for experience points (EXP). You may customise the type of quests and actions you would like your members to perform, and how much EXP each quest is worth. Please see our detailed guide for more information.

The quest board is where you can get creative on how you would like to engage your community and stand out from the rest!

What type of quests does Onboard support?

There are 8 different quest types: #DISCORD, #TWITTER, #VISIT, #SUBMIT, #PARTICIPATE, #REFER, #EMPTY & #QUIZ. Please view our detailed guide for more information.

How do I create a community on Onboard?
  1. Click โ€œCreate Communityโ€

  2. Fill in your communityโ€™s name, region, description and category

  3. Upload a profile picture and click โ€œNextโ€

  4. Your community has been created!

Do note that your community is still in draft mode. Our admin will take 1-2 working days to approve your community before it is published. This is to ensure that the platform remains spam free. Please view our detailed guide for more information.

Can I create a community on Onboard if it is not developer-focused?

Onboard is a platform designed specifically for developer communities or developer-focused events. Our dedicated admin team carefully reviews and approves all community submissions within 1-2 working days.

If you have any specific enquiries or require assistance, please submit a request form here or email support@onboard.dev. We are committed to addressing your needs on a case-by-case basis.

Rewards & EXP

How do I claim EXP?

EXP (Experience Points) are given upon a successful completion of a quests. For most quests, EXP will be awarded to your account once you have completed the required task. For quests that require verification (e.g. #SUBMIT and #PARTICIPATE quests), please kindly allow the community manager a few days to review your quest submission before EXP will be awarded to you.

What rewards can I issue to my community members?

As a community manager, you have the flexibility to determine how you want to reward your members for their active participation in your quests. Use your primary communication channel to inform your members about the exciting rewards and build anticipation for their journey ahead!

Rewards can take various forms, including both financial and non-financial incentives. However, it's important to note that Onboard does not facilitate any transactions on our platform. You have the autonomy to distribute rewards in the most suitable manner for your community.

Does Onboard support issuing of rewards to my community members?

Onboard does not facilitate any transactions or issuance of rewards on our platform. As a community manager, you have the autonomy to distribute rewards in the most suitable manner for your community.
