πRevive Your Community with Onboard
Hey Community Managers! π
If you've created your communities on Onboard, that's great! It's no easy feat to onboard your entire community onto a new platform and we're here for it! Now that the transition is successful, are you thinking about the next steps? Let's talk engagement and how to keep it going on Onboard - here are 4 ways you can use Onboard to serve your community:
1. Encourage User-Generated Content (UGC):
Organize periodic challenges or contests to encourage members to create content relevant to the community's focus. You can also offer recognition or rewards for the best submissions to give members a little push!
And with permission, you can use some of your community's work for your social media platforms as part of your marketing and outreach efforts.
Host contests or mini challenges to keep your members on their toes e.g.:
Upload a 1 min reel about what you're passionate about and why you joined the community
Submit a poster design of the best product features
Upload your project files
Write a response to our New Year's Challenge: What is your 2024 resolution?

Use this to recognise member contributions and announce winners of your challenges (if you have any) e.g.:
Let's welcome our new members...
Celebrating our Member of the Month...
The winner of our Holiday Challenge is...
Create a series of challenges with trivia quizzes for a fun holiday challenge (it's a multiple choice question and answer format) e.g.:
Who are our community admins?
What is the club's manifesto?
Use this to direct members to other platforms for your challenges e.g.:
Join the Kahoot, NearPod, Menti link to participate in the challenge
Submit your feedback on our Google Form
2. Host Events & Facilitate Peer-to-Peer Interactions:
Organize webinars, live Q&A sessions, or workshops with industry experts or community leaders, which can help to facilitate interaction and encourage active participation.
Encourage members to share experiences, seek advice, or collaborate with each other - your community is only as strong as your connections!
Invite your members to RSVP for your events and view your event details at a glance.

Encourage your members to engage with your club social media accounts, especially in lieu of an event. You can utilise Twitter or Instagram to engage in fun daily polls and share stories from the day itself.
Use this to allow members to engage with your event e.g.:
Submit a photo with your teammates
Submit questions for the panelists during Q&A
Upload a written response about your takeaways from today's workshop
Share your experience working in small groups at today's seminar
Engage your members by offering incentives for referral programmes during your event, and boost your outreach efforts at the same time.
3. Focus on Education and Learning:
Onboard is a great place to provide valuable resources, tutorials, or learning materials related to your community's theme. By empowering your members with the right skills and knowledge, you'll attract more like-minded peers and grow your community in the right direction!
Create a fun way for members to test their knowledge and retain their learnings e.g.:
What does HTML stand for?
What does a good documentation look like?

Use this to create a depository of resources where members can easily access and consolidate e.g.:
Visit the about page of our hackathon for more details on the project submission
Learn about our cloud services from tutorials
Watch this video on how to create documentation for your projects
Leave bite-size information for your community members, or any interesting articles that you might like to share.
4. Diversify Communication Channels:
As you've attracted a diverse range of people, the community might require a range of communication channels. You can meet that need by offering various platforms for engagement (e.g., forums, social media, live chats, slack, discord etc.) and allowing members to engage in ways comfortable for them.
Use #VISIT, #DISCORD, #TWITTER quests to direct members to diverse communication platforms, ensuring varied engagement.
Pro Tip: Engage your members personally to find out their preferences and create a more inclusive environment. It might be a small gesture but the personal touch could be the difference in creating a warm, welcoming space and a disconnected one.
Final Thoughts:
Onboard can be your all-in-one community hub if you know how to use it! The best way to learn would be to explore the various quest types available and make a note of what works for you and your community. Some quests might work better for your community than others, and it's all about fine tuning your approach. Let's have fun creating on Onboard! β¨
